Resident. Very local. Found in isolated colonies from
south-eastern and southern-central England as far north as Shropshire
and Perthshire.

It is often impossible to separate the adults of some species. In some cases differences can be seen in various life stages.

Case-bearing/leaf miner. Eggs laid on leaf. Larva probably makes a
short mine ending in a blotch (unobserved), this is excised to
construct the case, up to six blotch mines are formed on leaf edge.
